Reflexology
Reflexology, also known as zone therapy, is an alternative healing practice involving the application of pressure to specific points on the feet, ears, and hands. This is done using thumb, finger, and hand massage techniques. Reflexology's purpose is to improve gland, organ, and systems functions and the goal is to promote a response from the soft tissue stimulated through the nervous system and the meridians.
This is an exclusive 75-minute treatment applying reflexology to the head, hands, feet, and ears.
Be noted that some reflexology is included in all of the sessions.
Key Concepts
- Zone Theory: Reflexology is often associated with zone theory, which divides the body into ten vertical zones, each connected to specific areas on the feet, hands, ears, and head.
- Energy Flow: Practitioners believe that applying pressure to reflex points can unblock energy pathways and improve the body's natural healing processes.
- Relaxation and Stress Reduction: Reflexology is widely recognized for its ability to induce deep relaxation, which can help reduce stress and promote overall well-being.
- Pain Management: Many people find that reflexology can help alleviate pain, both acute and chronic.
How It Works (According to Practitioners)
- Stimulation of the Nervous System: Applying pressure to reflex points is believed to stimulate the nervous system, which can have a positive impact on various bodily functions.
- Improved Circulation: Reflexology may help improve blood circulation and lymphatic flow, aiding in the removal of toxins from the body.
- Hormonal Balance: Some practitioners believe that reflexology can help regulate hormone production and balance.
Benefits of Reflexology
- Stress Reduction: Reflexology can help reduce stress and promote relaxation by stimulating the nervous system.
- Improved Circulation: The pressure applied during reflexology sessions can enhance blood flow, which helps in delivering oxygen and nutrients to cells more efficiently.
- Pain Relief: Reflexology can alleviate pain by targeting specific pressure points that correspond to areas of discomfort in the body.
- Enhanced Immune Function: By promoting overall well-being and reducing stress, reflexology can support the immune system.
- Better Sleep: Many people find that reflexology helps improve their sleep patterns and quality of rest.
- Detoxification: Reflexology can aid in the removal of toxins from the body by improving lymphatic drainage.
- Increased Energy Levels: Regular reflexology sessions can help boost energy levels by balancing the body's systems.
